The attached screencast is a basic walk-through of how to use MindMeister. MindMeister allows you to create a mind map virtually. You are able to move, color code, comment, add links and attachments to your mind map along with sharing it and allowing others to edit.

My students will use this first with their Endangered Animals project to help organize all of their ideas. Their project is covering what would happen if a certain species went extinct.

I would open this up to them at the beginning of the project and encourage the use of it throughout the entire thing. This will allow them to keep their sources with the information that they have gathered and allow them to make sure that every person in their group is on the same page about the information.

They can even use this as a way to see in which order they need to present information as MindMeister has a presentation function. I would encourage them not to use the MindMeister presentation as their final one as it does not allow much creativity.
